3 lions and their hurt

IT was heartbreak yet again for Three Lions fans left crying into their beer last night as Harry Kane’s penalty miss ended their World Cup dreams.

More than six million packed out pubs, sports bars and social clubs – with millions more glued to TVs at home – in the hope this time maybe football was coming home.

Instead it will be their heroes heading for the airport after playing their hearts out in the quarter final 2-1 defeat against World Cup holders France. Up and down the land fans were draped in the St George flag, with many sporting ‘It’s Coming many sporting ‘It’s Coming Ho-Ho-Home’ Christmas jumpers, roaring their heroes on. And also fuming at Brazilian ref Wilton Sampaio for missing a clear penalty against Kane early in the game as England stood firm against France and their superstar striker Kylian Mbappe .
