Bebe will forever be shimmering star and we will carry her with us

THE parents of one of the three girls killed in the Southport stabbings have spoken movingly of their daughter as they revealed that her older sister witnessed the horror.

Bebe King, six, died but nine-year-old Genie managed to escape the bloodbath as they both attended a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. Last night their parents Lauren and Ben spoke for the first time of their pain at losing a daughter “full of joy, light, and love”.

They said: “Our hearts are broken, but we find some comfort in knowing that Bebe was so deeply loved by all who knew her. She will forever be our shimmering star, and we will carry her with us in everything we do.” They went on to reveal their elder daughter’s escape from the killer.

The couple said: “We want to acknowledge our older daughter, Genie, who witnessed the attack and managed to escape. She has shown such incredible strength and courage, and we are so proud of her.

“Her resilience is a testament to the love and bond she shared with her little sister, and we will continue to support her as we navigate this painful journey as a family.”
