Final-day thriller with Mcllroy chasing renaissance man Matteo | Rory: I've had setbacks and bounced back. I'm due a win...

DIAL M FOR...

RORY MCILROY went to Wembley to watch Anthony Joshua last night, before bidding to stop an emotional comeback win for Italian Matteo Manassero today.

The "resilient" Northern Irishman claimed that he is "due" a victory after a summer of near-misses and heartaches, including losing the Irish Open last Sunday.

But the Italian has suffered a whole career of pain after being tipped as a future superstar when he became the youngest ever European Tour champion, aged 17, at the Castello Masters in 2010, before going on to win the PGA Championship in 2013.

Manassero, now 31, has battled back from falling to world No.1,805 to regain his DP World Tour card - and triumphed in South Africa back in March.

The world No.101 is starting to show his young form again.
