This spin-off is Denzel Washington's second sequel. As his first was 2018's Equalizer 2, we can safely assume the picky Oscar-winner saw something in Edward Woodward's 80s vigilante TV series.
The Equalizer 3, again directed by Antoine Fuqua, is another violent action film elevated by a soulful lead performance. This time, the action moves from Boston to Italy as Washington's Robert McCall contemplates retiring on the Amalfi coast.
