UK temperatures to couple up with, and beat, those at TV villa

BRITAIN is set to put Love Island in the shade this week as the country basks in a 33C heatwave.

Temperatures in some parts of the country will pip the 32C being enjoyed in the Spanish hideaway where the ITV2 reality show is filmed.

This year is set to be the UK’s hottest on record – with six warmer-than-normal months in a row, followed by a sweltering second half of summer.

So there’s no need to be envious of the bronzed contestants looking for love in the villa in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar on the island of Majorca.

Yesterday, forecasters hailed a golden “Spanish summer” with more bursts of Balearic heat for Britain.

The Weather Outlook’s Brian Gaze said: “It looks like a Spanish summer at times for Britain this year, with heat until September.”
