ENGLAND were spot on at last for their jubilant fans as they squeezed past Switzerland on penalties to reach the Euro semi-finals.
Under-fire boss Gareth Southgate, managing his 100th game, looked nervously on as his chosen takers coolly slotted home all five after goalie Jordan Pickford saved the first Swiss kick.
And it sent Three Lions fans in the Dusseldorf Arena into raptures along with the millions watching at home. Yet for a couple of hours beforehand nerves were on edge as the team put on yet another shaky display watched by a tense looking Prince William.
The Swiss went 1-0 ahead with just 15 minutes left when striker Breel Embolo prodded home from close range. But five minutes later Bukayo Saka equalised with a wonderful 20 yard strike to send the match into a goalless extra time. Then Pickford along with Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney and Trent Alexander-Arnold did the trick to send Wills and thousands of England fans punching the air.
Later Wills posted on social media: "Nail biting to the very end. Well done England! Semi-finals here we come! We believe."
