Three-quarters fear care crisis as they get old

SOME 76% of us fear we will be unable to afford a care home or assisted-living place when we get older, warns a poll.

Half of us have no savings put aside for later life care, which costs an average of £1,160 a week, or £1,410 if nursing care is needed.

It found 30% believe they will have to sell their homes to pay for any care they might need, so 22% think they will not be able to leave anything to their children.
