My interest in photography began in college, influenced by my uncle, a wedding photographer. Unfortunately, work took precedence over my passion until the onset of the digital photography era around 2005. Rediscovering my enthusiasm, I started with a Nikon Coolpix 4300 and later upgraded to a Nikon D80, cherishing photography as a creative outlet.
In 2007, I started participating in the Photo walks conducted by The Chennai Photo Walk Group, later becoming a member of the Photographic Society of Madras. I held various roles and served as President during 2019-20 and 2020-21. With multiple awards and acceptances in FIP and FIAP-recognized salons, I have achieved prestigious distinctions like EFIP and EFIAP. Notably, 1x.com published 107 of my images, including 15 pictures that were awarded.
From November 2021 onwards, I started sharing my photos on 1x.com which is a photography community based out of Sweden whose vision is to gather the best of photography from the world, curate them by experts and show them in one place. With over 60 of my published images on the 1x.com site, I created two printed volumes. Volume 1 and 2, each with 30 images, in size 10.5x8.75 inches and containing 28 and 30 pages, respectively. Shot with a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera, the process, from the concept of a photo book to the final publication, took about a month. In fact, before this, in 2017, I began producing prints in A4 and 12”x18” sizes. This marked the inception of my fondness for printed images, which served as a catalyst for embarking on the journey of creating a photobook. It is true what they say – once you delve into printing your photographs, you become captivated by its myriad advantages, and that compels you to persist in the practice of printing your images.
