In 2008, Singapore made history for hosting the world’s first Formula 1® night race and has since continued to attract fans from across the globe as a ‘jewel in the Formula 1® crown’. This 30th September to 2nd October, the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2022 will host its thirteenth edition of the night race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
About 268,000 spectators attended when it was last held in 2019, marking the second highest attendance for the race – and it’s no surprise with the chance to see the world’s finest drivers go wheel-to-wheel under lights at speeds of up to 325km/h, threading the barriers around Singapore’s picturesque Marina Bay.
For the fans, it’s an incredible made-for-Instagram sight, with the track set against the backdrop of Singapore’s iconic heritage buildings, modern architecture and a stunning skyline. It’s all very accessible, with plenty of dining options, entertainment, hotels, subway stations and shopping malls just a stone’s throw away.
