THE FEEL OF FORGED

Srixon's reputation of bringing out irons for discerning golfers gets a boost with its latest forged option - the ZXi line. Boasting Srixon's new i-Forging technology, the range includes the ZXi7, ZXi5, and ZXi4 irons, with the ZXIU utility irons shoring up the long end of the game.

Srixon claims that i-Forging gives "the purest level" of feel ever produced in their irons, providing better distance, forgiveness and control. The new forging method allows for using different types of steel for different objectives. The Srixon ZXi7 uses S15C, the softest steel ever used in a forged Srixon iron. The ZXi5 and ZXiU uses S20C for a balance of softness and strength. And SUS1747, a softer and more malleable material, is used in the ZXi4 for optimum feel on every strike.

Softer steel enhances feel. But without enough strength, performance and durability will deteriorate. To get around this tradeoff, Srixon has added strength where they need it using a new method called Condensed Forging.
