HULL City boss Tim Walter says fans will have to wait to see “perfect” midfielder Steven Alzate unleashed on the Championship

PATIENCE REQUIRED OVER NEW BOY ALZATE

The 26-year-old, who joined the Tigers on a free transfer on Monday, had been without a club since leaving Brighton in June.

Alzate made 43 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls after joining from Leyton Orient in 2017 and has won seven caps for Colombia.

He spent time on trial at newly-promoted Ipswich last month but a lack of pre-season training means he is short of match fitness.

“Steven’s a good footballer,” said Walter. “Technically, he’s really, really perfect. But he’s not fit at the moment. He needs another few weeks, but you can see in the first sessions that he is a brilliant player and he will bring us a big impact.”
