Celebration with Tomatoes!
La Tomatina is more than simply a tomato fight. The week-long event is jam-packed with activities, parades, music, dancing, and fireworks.
The revelry begins the day before the tomato war with an all-night street party. The party mood sets the tone for the great event that attendees will experience in the morning.
It’s Unique and Exhilarating The Tomato Fight
Participants assemble in the town square on the final Wednesday of August, excitedly awaiting the commencement of the tomato war. Before the battle, they have a nice breakfast of rolls and pastries to fortify up for the arduous task ahead.
The signal is given at 9 a.m., and the air is filled with crimson missiles as the mob begins tossing tomatoes at each other.
A Messy Aftermath
The streets of Buñol turn into a sea of crimson sauce as the tomato war continues. Participants relish in the chaos, laughing and enjoying the one-of-a-kind event. Locals join in the fun by hosing down the tomato-covered warriors from their windows, providing a lighthearted and refreshing respite from the tomato splatter.
Beyond the Tomato Battle
While the tomato fight is clearly the centre-piece of La Tomatina, the festival also includes other fascinating attractions. On August 22, there will be a Tomatina battle for youngsters for the first time this year.
