I'm biased and will try to address the circumstances where I agree that hiring a planner is extra. Most of us can agree that having paid help is welcome. However, when is it too much or unnecessary? Here are five keys that should help you decide.

WHEN BUDGET DOESN'T ALLOW FOR IT

If your budget is so tight that hiring a planner will sacrifice other essential planning services (like having a photographer), you should make do without the help. I turn down potential couples when my fee makes up too high of a percentage of their total budget - leaving me with too small of a budget to plan their wedding well.
