Autumn's here and you're determined to turn over a new health leaf - lose weight and eat better. But you're on a tight budget. With the rising cost of living, a healthy diet seems to be out of reach for most of us. The price of essentials, such as milk and butter alone, have increased by 20% in the past three months, which means lower-income households are struggling to afford the basics, let alone stock up on healthy foods.
Research by food tech innovator YFood has found that 33% of Brits are now buying cheap food, at the expense of their nutritional needs, while 51% tend to buy food that is more affordable and will last longer. However, eating healthily doesn't have to be expensive. Forget snacking on goji berries or slathering manuka honey on your toast, it's easy to slim down and save the pennies with these expert tips.
