The coronation is done and dusted, the family jewels have been packed away and now it’s time for King Charles to get on with his reign. But whether our new monarch is remembered for more than the family drama that has surrounded his early days, remains to be seen. And according to one expert, there is one vital thing that Charles, 74, needs to do in order to tip the scales in his favour: ‘banish’ his younger son, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan, completely.
Woman has previously reported the effort Charles has put in to try and heal the rift with Harry; offering a major olive branch in inviting him and his family to the coronation, despite the truth bombs he and Meghan have frequently fired at his family. Tom Bower, royal expert and author, tells Woman that it’s time for Charles to draw a line under his relationship with Harry.
The writer and journalist is well known for his explosive biographies, including 2018’s Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles, which the author claimed led to a change in Charles’ behaviour from being outspoken to less controversial in his opinions.
More recently, in Tom’s biography of the Sussexes, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, he claimed that Meghan ‘reduced people to tears with her passive-aggressive tone’ and demanded first-class flights and luxury accommodation for business trips prior to meeting Harry, while he says a friend of Meghan claims she spoke about researching the prince before their first date.
