Either it is an arranged marriage or love marriage, it will be a success only when the adjustments or compromises are balanced between the couple. It may be difference of nature, difference of opinion, difference of tastes and likings, or even priorities, there happen to be clashes between the two.
The mind is not a vessel to be filled but fire to be kindled. A sound is obligatory when two vessels clash but that clash should not be prolonged. It has to be sorted out keeping aside one's ego so that the relation may not be sour and love and happiness flourish between them.
