Partners in cuteness are the beaver babies, known as kits, which have been born in West London after an absence of 400 years.

THE AGE OF THE SCOUSERS
Liverpool-born John Tinniswood turned 112 in August, becoming the world's oldest man, while fellow Scouser Sir Paul McCartney became the first UK musician to become a billionaire, according to May's Sunday Times Rich List. 'We shall scrimp and save,' he famously sang in The Beatles' When I'm 64. It's fair to assume Sir Paul can now afford to rent that summer cottage in the Isle of Wight!
