Jersey's BEST Destination OF THE Year WINNER 2025

The votes are in! New Brunswick has been crowned NJ's Destination of the Year 2025 by Jersey's Best team of editors. Home to first-rate theaters, outstanding dining establishments, a prestigious state university, and cutting-edge health care facilities, this Middlesex County city surpassed stiff competition, besting fellow finalists Fort Lee, Hillsborough, Jersey City, and Madison, to take the title of Top Destination.

New Brunswick City Center Executive Director Pamela Stefanek said the organization was “immensely honored” that the city was recognized as Jersey’s Best Destination of the Year 2025.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude knowing the opportunities that are ahead of us and invite everyone to experience New Brunswick, the host of world-class arts and culture, renowned restaurants, hotels, sports and so much more,” Stefanek said.

Lina Llona, president of the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce/Convention & Visitors Bureau, agreed and added that Rutgers University’s standing in the Big 10 has brought an enormous amount of visitors to the area and given athletes and sports fans the chance to discover all New Brunswick has to offer.

“They had an expansion this year,” Llona said. “We have West Coast schools coming in. For us, it’s a huge opportunity not to just showcase New Brunswick, but the state of New Jersey.”
