Use a Feeder to Get More From the Conditions

On wide venues, it adds a vital string to your bow

Use a Feeder to Get More From the Conditions

LAST week I looked at catching skimmers from big, deep and slow moving rivers on the pole.

That’s all well and good when there’s not a lot of pull on the water, but when the river’s pace picks up it’s time to get the feeder rod out of the holdall.

I would always rather fish the pole than the feeder, not least because presentation is better and more of the swim can be explored. However, when the river is running through a bit and the skimmers are sitting right on top of the feed and not drifting about the peg, the feeder can become the better option.
