SARAC – more than a rescue centre

Educating The Community In Soweto

Starting as saving donkeys from abuse as a child, Jerry Selwane has always assisted the weak, whether it was animals or humans. Working through the ranks and starting the Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC) in November 2011, Jerry’s love for animals moves him to courageous acts to save animals. For Jerry, SARAC is much more than a rescue centre – it is an organisation to educate and help people with their animals.

Although Jerry’s main objective is to support the poorer community in Soweto, his biggest drive is to investigate and apprehend animal abuse offenders.
