It is quite normal to see someone walking down the street with a dog on a leash. Much less common is to see a cat on a leash. It is possible to train your cat though – all you need is a harness, a leash, and a lot of patience. Most cats are harder to train than dogs, but if you persevere, you might just be the talk of the town.

STEP 1 First things first. Buy a comfortably fitting harness and lightweight leash with a secure clip. To make sure that your cat gets used to the smell of the harness and leash, leave it close to her sleeping area. It will take a few days for her to get accustomed to its appearance and smell.
