What The Breeders Say

We asked some breeders a few questions about the Boxer, and this is what Sally Young from Chiswick Boxers, Marlien Heystek from Jakkalsdans Boxers, and Ute Füglister from the Federation of Boxer Clubs of South Africa have to say about the breed.

What makes the Boxer special?

Sally Young It is the most loving and loyal breed, and will integrate 100% into the family, from protecting every member to being the best playmate any child could hope for. The Boxer can swim, play football and jump on the trampoline, and do all the fun things kids want him to do, and for the adults he will happily go on long runs.

Marlien Heystek The ultimate family dog, the Boxer is fun-loving and affectionate and very tolerant and patient with children. They are not usually aggressive, but are confident, courageous and protective of their family. When young, they might be too boisterous for very young children or the elderly. A senior Boxer will, however, be a loving companion and protector for both very young and older persons.
