MUDLARKS shone at this popular Monmouthshire event, where rain forced the cancellation of three sections of BE100 crosscountry on the second day.
Kat Raybould steered Jennifer Jackson’s 15.2hh mare Diamond Dancing Hettie to victory in novice section B, with a double clear and a dressage mark of 26.3.
“She’s a bog monster and didn’t mind the mud at all,” said Kat. “She’s so brave; as soon as she sees a fence she’s on it.”
The duo’s win was particularly fitting as Hettie’s sire was the late Diamond Dancer II, the grey stallion who belonged to jointorganiser Hannah Matthews, and was ridden up to intermediate level by Mount Ballan course designer Eric Winter.
Kat also finished third in novice section A on Nicholas and Sally Moore’s Passions Opposition.
Katie Kneen stepped down a couple of levels and landed a BE100open on The Last Cavalier.

Rider Denies Doping After Team Loses Olympic Placing - Tine Magnus and the Belgian team said they do not know the source of the drug that caused the positive test
Olympic eventer Tine Magnus has denied ever doping after her Paris ride Dia Van Het Lichterveld Z gave a positive test at the Games. This means the Belgian team, which came fourth, has been disqualified. On 4 September, the FEI said the 10-year-old mare, owned by Kris van Vaerenbergh, tested positive for trazodone, which is listed as an antidepressant on the FEI's prohibited substances list.
