Embedded in the DNA of the client a large NGO focused on the development of Bangladesh, is the University’s vision to become a catalyst for change that would coalesce the local community, improve the immediate built environment of the neighbourhood, and provide a model for environmental and social sustainability in Bangladesh.
Accommodating over 10,000 students on a 2Ha site, the design challenge is to create a liveable, tropical and sustainable inner city campus that maximises areas for teaching, yet introduces breathing spaces for informal learning and social interaction.
