Street Rod Nationals Of The '70s

In 1975 Sydney street rodder, Steve Durrington was just 19 years old and, although he was a member of the Bent Eights Hot Rod Club, he didn’t have a rod of his own on the road yet, so he travelled to the Street Rod Nationals at Narrandera in his modified 1958 Morris Major, the first car he ever built, with his sister and her future husband, Paul Walker. Steve had been interested in cars of all sorts but it was a ride in Paul’s T bucket that was the turning point, Steve was a hot rodder from then on. He did have a 1937 Chev four-door sedan that he was building into a street rod at the time, but it was never completed.
