Living a New Normal Life After the Accident

Riding a motorcycle takes a different set of skills than when driving a car. A combination of consistent education, a regard for traffic laws and basic common sense goes a long way to helping reduce the amount of fatalities and injuries involved in motorcycle accidents. Even when riders follow all of these rules, wear protective gear and follow defensive driving techniques something can go wrong. We often hear and read about tragic stories of deaths or accidents involving a motorcycle, often with a car involved. We rarely hear about what happens after the accident.

Liezl Swanepoel, a woman with a passion for riding motorcycles and a love for her Harley Davidson, a complete custom street Bob. She would enjoy Sunday breakfast rides with her chapter and daily rides to and from work. Her passions exceeded far beyond riding, ranging from gardening and dancing, to hunting and charity works. She was, and is, the best mother and wife that she could be. Liezl indeed lived her life to the full, a life that was changed in a split second, the normal she had become accustomed to ripped from her in mere seconds. On the 2nd of August 2017 on her way home Liezl was struck by another driver, the driver had veered into her lane. Liezl saw the approaching car and moved to the hazard lane. Even following all of the necessary precautions Liezl was not protected from other drivers on the road. In an urban area Liezl was involved in a head-on collision.
