The weather – and the long Christmas break – didn’t help with the progress of the Alpha’s restoration process.
I was so happy to get the festive period out the way and get back to normality. Christmas and New Year were an unwanted distraction from making some progress on the Foden. Not only that, but I’ve just gone and bought my first house, so that’s been taking up a lot of resources too. Buying boring stuff like tea towels and curtains is much less enjoyable than sourcing parts for the lorry – but needs must!
My original plan for January was to get the wheels off and away to be shot blasted, but I’ve put that on hold for the moment. Instead,
I’ve been making a shopping list of important items I am hoping to be able to pick up second hand; the offside mudguard at the rear of cab was melted by the old exhaust, the nearside wing has had a fibreglass repair, while the nearside step pocket was split too. I also need a proper susie bar, as the old one was mounted on a tipping tank which was removed before I bought the truck.
