The drought was well and truly broken with HOG members from all over Australia making it to Rockhampton.

HAPPY HOGGIES

It was a long time coming but when it did, they came. In droves. Being tied to the yoke of Covid restrictions; cabin fever had been driving many a HOG member nuts. So, the news of a sanctioned state rally – held in association with the RockyNats – stirred the riding pot big time. To the point that some 286 HOG members threw a leg over their Milwaukee Iron and headed to Rockhampton from all across Australia.

They came from Cape York, from the Swan River, from Darwin, Newcastle, Townsville, Canberra and many places in between. With space limitations a factor, I apologise if I have missed yours.

Unfortunately for those Southerners such as me, normally sunny Queensland let us down with drizzling rain keeping the skies grey for most of the weekend. Yet while it may have dampened our clothing, it certainly did not dampen our spirits, with widespread smiles lighting up Rocky each and every day.

Initially, the event was to be simply the RockyNats, which is a mega-event in itself. However, longtime HOG identity Gaz Luxmoore, along with Glenn McNeil, the Queensland State HOG Director and with the enthusiastic support of Rocky Harley Davidson Dealer Principal, Geoff Trewin, managed to turn it into a sanctioned HOG rally.
