We Say: The US Of A Always Makes It Bigger, Stronger, Faster...
You’ve got to love SRT. The beer-swigging, heavy-metal listening go-faster offshoot of the US FCA family. Over the past few years, it’s been knocking it out of the park with cars that adhere to its principles of engineering hilarity.
This, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, is what happens when SRT looks at the new trendy-yet-oxymoronic niche of performance SUVs and says “Let’s be havin’ you.” Its mission is to vanquish the likes of the BMW X5M, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and Range Rover Sport SVR with the help of two things: power and speed.
With 527kW and a 0–100km/h time of 3.5 seconds, it’s the most powerful and quickest SUV ever. It’s all courtesy of the wondrous supercharged 6.2-litre, HEMI V8 from the Dodge Hellcat and Demon. A motor that’s a cacophony of supercharger whirr and head-banging woomph which, in our opinion, needs to be dropped in as many cars as possible – like a sledgehammer family SUV weighing 2,433kg.
