More Partying In The Park!

When it comes to Party In The Park 2 - the follow-up to the successful Party In The Park 1 - think more Camper Calling rather than Camper Jam if you want to put it into a VW show category. According to a reliable source 10,000 visitors packed the venue over the weekend.

The event took place at Himley Hall in the Midlands - the same location that’s used for Dubs In Wonderland earlier in the year - and it’s got the same team in charge for all these shows - the hard working team from Dubs Collective. We featured the colourful T5 owned by the heads of DC in the November issue.

Let’s start with the music - after all that’s what the whole is pretty much all about. The show opened on the Friday and Friday night’s entertainment included tribute bands to OMD, Spandau Ballet, Madness, U2, Blondie and The Human League - now that’s an 80s line-up and a half.

And by using 2 stages side-by-side it means that there is no massive downtime when bands change over, so all the audience need to do is turn their attention by about 20 degrees - depending how close to the stage they are standing /sitting - and then carry on with the next band.

Lance & Lisa Beaver tell the story of their...‘Old School' Westfalia Bay

The history of our bus is varied. I heard that it used to belong to a soccer player who lived in it for a while, and a tale of a cross country trip that was taken in it. Since we’ve owned it, we have been to numerous car shows with our car club Kahiko Kula and enjoy that immensely, but taking it camping is our joy.
