The Ultimate Bus?

Over the years, I’ve owned several air cooled Volkswagens but I’ve never had a bus and around here the bus is King”. As David Ross grew older and wiser, his air-cooled friends gradually began to drive buses until he found himself the only one still in a bug. “I guess I succumbed to peer pressure and now I have both. I found this bus listed online about two years ago in Idaho by a proper old school dude. The seller was a ‘first one here with cash gets it’ kind of guy. There were many Utah and Idaho guys after this bus but Michael from Dubfab in St. George, Utah hitched up his trailer and hit the road. After a struggle to drag it up onto the trailer he made the trip home. Almost immediately he began work on the tubs, the air ride suspension and installing disc brakes. It was going to be a promo bus for his business but then I got lucky when he found a different bus that he preferred. He put it up for sale online… I was actually just about to buy another Mango bus when he called me and said, ‘Just buy this one’. Early buses are of course the greatest of them all, and it was just the right time, and the right bus for me to pull the trigger. It was over my budget but Michael took full control of my bus buying and told me he would, ‘Drop it off this weekend’. I laughed, and then Saturday morning arrived bright and early along with a text message that said, ‘I am here with your bus!’ It’s a pretty funny story, but we worked out a price and that is when I began work on one nasty old shell of a bus.
