– an adventure with Terase and her red Kombi

Taste Of Byron

“Being able to combine my love of cooking and feeding people with my experience in event management is truly a dream come true.”

Australia’s Byron Bay is becoming a foodie destination – and Terase Davidson and her bright red VW Kombi prove a colourful introduction to the regional many splendid tastes.

Davidson’s business is, appropriately, Taste Byron Bay. Drawn to the region’s unique microclimate that supports rich farming and full-flavoured produce she celebrates this exceptional food bowl with fun food tours and cooking classes.

Events now run by Taste Byron Bay include team building, event planning, catering, private dining, food tours, cooking classes and gift bags.

“Our core focus in everything we do at  Taste Byron Bay, is on using quality local ingredients that are prepared and cooked with love.

“At Taste Byron Bay, we also make a small range of artisan products that all proudly display the  Taste Byron Bay logo.”

Davidson’s career as a chef began at the fine dining restaurant, Aqua Dining, which at the time was a prestigious one hat restaurant.

“I started off as a junior chef and was fortunate to work alongside some very talented people. I watched, I learned, I worked hard and with sheer determination I rose quickly through the ranks.

“In April 2014, I took the leap of faith and moved from Manly, on Sydney’s northern beaches to Byron Bay, to follow my dream of running my own food-based business and being more connected with the land.   I feel very lucky  to be able to live in a region that produces such an abundance of exceptional produce and share my passion for local, seasonal produce across all our menus and events.”
