IIM-A receives contribution of Rs 50 Lakh by PGP batch 2007
IIM Ahmedabad received various contributions by its alumni in the past while this contribution is a new landmark in the alumni contributions towards the priorities identified by the Institute.
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has recently received a funding support of Rs 50 lakh for its faculty club from its PGP (Postgraduate Program) Batch 2007.
For the alumni, it was time to give back to their alma mater IIM-A and contribute to creating and preserving valuable assets. According to Professor Errol D'Souza, Director-in-charge, IIM-A, the contribution made towards the faculty club, shows the students' affection towards the faculty and the learning opportunities that IIM-A faculty offered while they were on campus.
IIM-A alumni contribution towards the faculty club is a new landmark in the alumni contribution towards the priorities identified by the Institute. According to IIM-A faculties, IIM alumni have been supportive towards multiple initiatives on campus.
Yogi Government orders cut on existing holidays for Madrassas in UP, introduces 7 new holidays
In recent development, the Yogi Government ordered the Madrassas in UP to remain closed on festivals of other faith while cutting down on the discretionary offs used for Muslim festivals. After making it mandatory for the Madrassas to hold programs on National festivals, Yogi Government has made some major changes in the annual calendar.
It has ordered the Madrassas to stay closed on festivals of other faith while reducing the previously granted ten discretionary holidays around Muslim festivals to just four.
Yogi Government has introduced seven new holidays on the festivals of other faiths viz. Mahavir Jayanti, Raksha Bandhan, Mahanavmi, Buddh Purnima, Diwali, Dussehra and Christmas making it compulsory for the Madrassas of UP to stay closed.
