Band, baaja, blockbuster! SHASHANK KHAITAN is in a celebratory mood after the grand success of Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
Shashank Khaitan’s Badrinath Ki Dulhania (BKD) has been one of the biggest success stories of 2017. The Alia Bhatt Varun Dhawan starrer has earned close to 120 crores at the domestic box office. A sequel of sorts of the same team’s successful Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014, BKD, has been a runaway success thanks to being both relevant and entertaining.
Shashank believes movies should make people happy. He reveals, “I do everything in my life with the aim of being happy. Whether it’s making movies or anything else. With all that’s happening around us, I’m sure all of us can do with a little more happiness.” He’s right about that.
Shashank, a graduate from the Whistling Woods International Institute, is sold out to the idea that all stories are actually love stories. This thought comes courtesy a Hollywood writer, who taught him at Whistling Woods. He smiles, “Of course, it could be love for different things. A romantic film is about love for someone; a thriller is love for some possession. Ultimately, films are about love and passion. I can discover that element in every genre.”
