Hrithik Roshan Is Looking Forward To War

Hrithik Roshan has hit a new career curve with Super 30. Based on mathematician Anand Kumar’s life, who trained 30 underprivileged students to ace the IIT entrance exams, the narrative cruised into the 150-crore club. The film, a tribute to dreams and determination, is a metaphor of the actor, who overcame every obstacle while doing it. It also speaks of his ability to sense the changing cinematic jargon, where the script is the hero and content king. Even in his personal life, Hrithik has accepted every challenge thrown at him with the spirit of a true player. For him every experience adds to his repertoire as a person, as a performer. Ready for release is now Yash Raj Films’ actioner, War, opposite Tiger Shroff. Given the thrilling teaser, trade pundits are already blowing the victory bugle. For fans, two Hrithik films in a span of two months… after a gap of two years is a bonanza they can’t celebrate enough. Over to the man of the moment…

Would you say Super 30 is the turning point in your career?

Taking up Super 30 was indeed a difficult decision. It’s not like I had back-to-back blockbusters to take on a film like this, which is not in the commercial realm. It’s not a mainstream film. So when I heard the script, it seemed a tough call to take. It was a big risk. But I’m a curious soul. I wanted to take on this adventure and do something that pulled at my heartstrings. Mentally, the calculation didn’t seem to be commercially viable. But my heart wanted to do it. I wanted to find out what would happen if I did it. Doing the film, I learnt a lot of things. Like it’s important to follow your heart rather than box-office calculations. I felt strongly about this film. I was guided by my instincts. I’m happy I took the call to do it.
