It’s hard to imagine a family life more idyllic than the one enjoyed by TV presenter JB Gill, his wife Chloe and their two adorable children. Down on their farm in Kent, playtime involves climbing bales of hay, racing around on mini tractors and feeding the turkeys, chickens, and pigs that roam the land.
When HELLO! joins the former JLS singer and his family at home for this exclusive interview and photoshoot, it’s clear that JB’s son Ace, who turns five this week, and his one-year-old sister Chiara are in their element in their rural playground.
The pair lark about in the sunshine and, as Ace takes the wheel of a mini tractor and treats Chiara to spin, the little tot squeals with delight.
“Ace has the best time on the farm,” says Chloe. “His favorite thing is to collect the eggs and to run about with Daddy with their wheelbarrows. This time next year, Chiara will be running around with them. She already has her wellies lined up.”
CHANGING TIMES
Following a fun-filled summer, last week marked a big change in their lives when Ace started primary school. While the experience is often an emotional one, JB and Chloe were happy to wave their son off at the gates on his first day.
“He was so excited,” says JB. “It feels like he’s been ready for school for a long time, so we were very proud to let him go. He had already been going to nursery there, so it was all familiar to him.”
Says Chloe: “I had a lump in my throat on the way to school but there weren’t tears, because he was ready. You have to let him take that first step. He gave all three of us a kiss goodbye then walked in with a big smile on his face.
“When he came out he said it was the best day ever. You can’t ask for more than that. He couldn’t wait to go back, and the next morning he was up and dressed by 6 am.”
