Victor Faces Off With J.T.

Victor finally gets his chance to confront J.T. after his former son-in-law sets up a meeting via a text from an unknown number. Nikki and Victoria beg Victor not to head out alone but he insists on going solo. “He wants to settle his own score here,” explains Executive Producer/Head Writer Mal Young. “J.T. was someone who attacked and harmed his daughter and tried to kill Victor twice. This is the Victor we all know and love and he has to settle this on his own.”

There’s a compelling reason why Victor won’t involve the cops, says the exec. “Victor doesn’t trust [Police Chief] Paul because of his relationship with J.T. in the past,” relays Young. “Remember, Paul was the one who put J.T. undercover to investigate Victor and bring him down. Paul started all of this, so Victor doesn’t trust the police.”

It’s not clear if Victor will be armed or not. “There’s a moment in the episode where we see an anonymous hand going into a safe and removing a gun,” Young teases. “I’m not telling you whose hand that is, but could it be Victor’s, could it be J.T.’s or could it be someone else’s? But I will say that Victor isn’t going unprepared; he’s going to finish this.”

Victor does make sure that Nick is kept in the dark about his plans. “Nick has heard and seen some of the evidence that J.T. is back in Genoa City and, like his dad, Nick wants to finish this, as well, so he wants to find J.T.,” Young notes. “When J.T. was spotted outside of Sharon’s house, Nick ran outside to get him. Nick wants him caught just as everyone else does, but Victor hasn’t told Nick where he’s going to meet J.T. Victor knows his son would want to be involved, but this is Victor’s High Noon moment. He wants to face this guy and say, ‘Let’s end this now!’ ”
