BRITNEY SPEAKS OUT... AT LAST

For nearly half of her decades-long career, Britney Spears hasn’t held full control of her life. But after many years of silence, the star will finally get the chance to reveal all on the strict conservatorship she’s been held under for 13 years. The 39-year-old is expected to take the virtual stage during a Los Angeles County probate court Zoom session on June 23 – where she will speak before a judge about the people running her personal and financial life, including her father Jamie Spears, 68.

Britney was put under a conservatorship back in 2008 after she was hospitalised for psychiatric treatment following a widely publicised breakdown. Her father and an attorney were granted the permanent order over her assets, estate and business affairs that October. The conservatorship has been in place ever since, though Jamie stepped down as her personal conservator in September 2019 due to “personal health reasons” – with Britney’s long-time care manager, Jodi Montgomery, taking his place – but remained co-conservator of her estate.
