After shedding 9kg in 2020, Drew Barrymore was celebrating being “her best self”. But after letting her diet and exercise regimen slide a bit over the busy festive period, the star, 46, is vowing to no longer be so hard on herself if the number on her scales creeps up.

Admitting she’d gained a couple of kilos, Barrymore chose to start her year gently rather than make grand declarations of hitting the gym or giving up chocolate. In fact, the former actress has decided the only real thing she needs to change is her attitude! On December 29, the busy mum-of-two and talk show host shared an inspiring snap of a scale on Instagram. “Say something kind to yourself,” a post-it note in the image read, alongside a little heart.

“The point of wellness to me is the mental,” Barrymore said. “I am exhausted from work. I don’t care what the number says!” she added, referring to her weight.
