Samuel Johnson - 'I'm lucky to be here'

This month marks a year since Gold Logie winner and fundraiser extraordinaire Samuel Johnson was involved in a car accident when he was crossing the road. I had a fight with a car and I lost terribly, he posted to the online community of Love Your Sister, a charity he set up 10 years ago after his sister, Connie, was diagnosed with cancer. I nearly died, he explained to The Project earlier this year about the incident that led to a serious brain injury and had experts doubtful about his chance of survival. By the time they got me to hospital [and] rushed me into ICU, I tanked.

Details of the accident are hard to read. I inhaled glass, which is what happens when you face plant a moving car, he said.
