‘The Kite that went to the Moon’ is a fairy tale written by Evelyn Sharp.
It was published in 1900 in a collection of short stories called ‘The Other Side of the Sun.’
One day Jerry made a large kite all by himself. It was the largest kite in town and Jerry felt quite proud of himself.
His friend Chubby, who was the woodcutter’s daughter, painted a moon and stars on the kite.
Jerry told his friends that he could make his kite fly to the moon.
‘We don’t believe you,’ said his friends. ‘How can a kite fly up to the moon?’
