Hospitality being one of the most productive sectors for employment generation in present context, International School of Tourism and Hotel Management (IST) was established in the year 2004 with an aim to provide the internationally recognized hospitality education.
IST has been offering various courses from a European Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management, National Examination Board 10 +2 Level to a European Bachelor in Hospitality Management (Hons.) which is a 4 years degree.
The courses are designed in such a way that it provides customized and fast track options to students with maximum flexibility and opportunity for progression either for further studies or for career in hospitality industry. The successful graduate can pursue Master’s Degree in Nepal or in countries like Austria, Australia, UK, USA and many more.
IST aims at developing practical, managerial and excellent communication skills of the students by providing each of them with the recognition of a successful career in the hospitality industry. Its curriculum is up-to-date and has been crafted according to the need of the industry and current global scenario. At one hand the emphasis is on the academic know how and on the other hand the equal emphasis is on the personality development of the students. Though the curriculums are somewhat similar there is a good combination of academic and practical courses in IST.
The human tendency is to forget whatever we have learnt and have to relearn again and again. Therefore, subjects like Study Skills, Learning and Working Technique, Presentation Skills, Management Workshops, Bar Showmanship and Guest Lecturer Series are added in the course to make it more viable in the changing global context.
