A Vegan Venture
Love for animals and veganism are going hand in hand these days. It has changed the way we eat our food and think about it. In India, we have had vegetarianism, but people are taking a step further towards veganism. Amidst this, we have a few names who are working towards animal rights and veganism with gusto. One such name is in the city and has come out with a new way to providing interesting vegan food.

In India, Anuradha Sawhney has always been associated with PETA. This former Chief Functionary and Head of Indian operations for PETA has now become a known name for focusing on veganism and animal rights. Taking her legacy forward, she had started Vegan Lunch Business in Pune, and is now into vegan desserts, cakes, breads, butter, cheese, ice cream, chocolates, cookies, and crackers. Such is her popularity that her desserts go to The Real Green Cafe, KP, and is all available online for delivery around Pune, and pan India too for limited products.

THE PETA AFFAIR

Anuradha and PETA have become synonymous to each other. Despite having left the organisation some time back, Anuradha is still the face of PETA for most people. Her journey towards connecting with the organisation and along with it is quite interesting. “How I connected with PETA is a story by itself! Before joining PETA, I used to work for a leather buying firm in Delhi! Yes, you read right, I worked for a leather buying firm. But I was convinced that the leather was fake. The day I found out the truth, that actually this was all real leather, coming from animals killed for their skin all around the world, I started to look for an alternative job,” she recounts.
