Marriage on the cards soon and your home is still a mess? Citadel comes to your rescue! Architect IMRAN SHAIK tells us all about revamping a bachelor pad into a comfortable household!
Arenowned name in the field of architecture, Imran Shaik was at a point of time sceptical of taking up the profession. However, graduating from Allana College, Pune and having assisted his father, Ar. Zuber Shaikh, he gradually developed an interest in this line of work. He has worked with his father in handling major townships such as Life Republic, Ivy Estates, so on and so forth, and that made him more confident about his chosen career path.
Imran has not only expertise in managing townships, but also projects pertaining to residential bungalows, schools and hospitals, to name a few. Talking about his design firm, Imran says, “My father, Ar. Zuber Shaik, along with his business partner,
Ar. Prakash Deshmukh, founded Associated Space Designers Pvt Ltd 30 years ago. The firm has successfully accomplished over 2000 projects and is still counting...” A remarkable achievement, indeed!
Leading the conversation further, we talk of the on-going wedding season and the resulting renovated homes. We ask Imran about how a bachelor pad can be transformed into a household, something that is trending in the market this wedding season, to which he says, “Honestly, I haven’t a project on these lines, but I can definitely lead you by my example. Now that I am married, I had to revamp a lot of my home! As a student of architecture, my room used to be one big mess! With drawing sheets and stationery scattered all around the place, it was difficult to manoeuvre through my house! But now that my wife is around, she wanted things all tidied up, organised inside shelves and decent seating furniture for us, as well as guests who might visit us.” Quite understandable!
