While at work, I got a call that my grandmother had passed away suddenly. That evening, my family met at my aunt’s house. The men were seated at the dining table, with me at the far end facing the door into the living room. I looked up to see three women standing in the doorway. One was my mother, but I had never seen the other two, a middle-aged lady and a teenage girl.
