A lonely young woman gets drawn into a sinister world of virtual reality role-playing.
The internet was abuzz earlier this month after C4 aired an advert for the AzanaBand, the world’s first sensory gaming device that could simulate happiness, fear or pain.
Intrigued gamers swiftly headed to the product’s website only to discover that it was a fictional invention – with a key role in C4’s innovative new drama Kiss Me First, set in the world of online gaming.
The high-concept series, based on a novel by Lottie Moggach, centres on shy and socially inept Leila, played by Tallulah Haddon, whose mother has recently died. To escape from her loneliness, Leila seeks refuge in virtual reality role-playing game Azana, where she adopts a persona called Shadowfax.
