A time-travel adventure with a difference comes to Netflix this week in a new movie that blends sci-fi action with hard-hitting social issues.

See You Yesterday stars Eden Duncan-Smith and Danté Crichlow as Brooklyn-based best friends CJ and Sebastian, who bond over a love of science – with CJ wanting to be an astrophysicist, and Sebastian aiming to come up with 200 inventions.

The school buddies spend every spare minute working on their latest creation: backpacks that enable time travel. But when CJ’s older brother, Calvin (rapper Astro), is gunned down by the New York police, the teens decide to use their technology to go back in time and save Calvin’s life.

The movie is the directorial debut of 31-year-old Stefon Bristol, who wanted to bring something new to the sci-fi genre.
