Keeley Hawes and Emma Appleton star in a tense post-war espionage thriller…
Following her standout performance as Home Secretary Julia Montague in BBC1 thriller Bodyguard, Keeley Hawes returns to the world of dark political intrigue this week for C4’s new espionage drama, Traitors.
Set in 1945 as World War Two ends and the Cold War beckons, the six-part series centres on ambitious Feef Symonds (Emma Appleton from Clique), who joins the Civil Service but dreams of becoming a British spy.
Feef’s life is turned upside down when her married American boyfriend Peter (Matt Lauria) introduces her to US intelligence agent Rowe (Michael Stuhlbarg).
Rowe asks Feef to use her role in the Civil Service to spy for the US and uncover a communist mole who is operating at the heart of the UK Government – all without the knowledge of Feef ’s bosses.
