If you enjoyed the gripping Sandra Bullock chiller Bird Box on Netflix, you won’t want to miss this equally terrifying tale about a world beset by monsters.

In new Netflix film The Silence, the planet has been taken over by prehistoric reptiles called Vesps. The creatures have been locked in caves in the dark for millions of years and no longer have eyes.

As they emerge from their lairs to wreak destruction on humanity, they use only their acute hearing to hunt down their prey. ‘It’s an apocalyptic situation,’ says the film’s director John R Leonetti. ‘The Vesps are unstoppable.’
