Warwick Davis on roughing it in the lake District with survival guru Bear Grylls…
NEW FACTUAL
Bear’s Mission with Warwick Davis
TUESDAY / ITV / 9PM
He may have played a member of primitive hunter-gatherer tribe the Ewoks in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, but that doesn’t mean Warwick Davis feels close to nature.
In fact, the actor and presenter says that, being shorter than most, everyday life is already challenging enough without roughing it in the wild, which is exactly what he’s seen doing alongside survival expert Bear Grylls this week on ITV! We caught up with Warwick, whose many film and TV credits include the Harry Potter franchise, comedies Extras and Life’s Too Short, travelogues Weekend Escapes and An Idiot Abroad, plus ITV game show Tenable, to find out how he coped on his two-day adventure in the beautiful Lake District…
Warwick, we see you doing some serious rock climbing with Bear. Was that your first time?
We all have dwarfism in our family, so we’re not built for climbing up things! The climbing I do is clambering around in the kitchen to reach things I can’t get to in the top cupboards. In life, as a little person, you have to be quite resourceful, as the world is not designed for somebody short. But rock climbing is not something you start when you’re 48, is it?!
Overall, did you find the trip enjoyable?
